Hours of Operation

Prairie State’s standard hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some individual field offices remain open to receive telephone calls during the lunch hour. Others will be closed during the lunch hour although you will be able to leave a voice mail message.

The Telephone Counseling Service (TCS) hours of operation are: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday beginning November 28, 2011. Individuals calling Prairie State for the first time with a new legal problem can reach the TCS by calling the local office phone number. Some eligible callers will receive immediate advice or a referral, if that is all that is required, or if they have legal problems that do not fall within our office priorities. For eligible callers who require further representation on problems within office priorities, counselors provide appropriate immediate advice, and then transmit the intake information to the appropriate service office for further service either through the local office staff or a volunteer lawyer program.
