Prairie State Legal Services, Inc. (PSLS) is a not-for-profit legal aid organization that provides civil legal aid services to the poor, elderly, and people with disabilities. PSLS has 11 offices serving 36 counties throughout northern and central Illinois. We focus services on legal problems that impact the ability of our clients to meet their basic human needs, including physical safety, access to healthcare, adequate housing, and similar needs. PSLS is the only legal aid organization in the majority of our service area. Annually, we handle over 22,000 applications for legal help and serve over 16,000 clients. PSLS staff are working remotely due to COVID-19 and the intake specialist will work remotely the majority of the time with limited in-office work for training purposes. The intake specialist will be responsible for interviewing applicants who apply for legal services through an online access system or by phone. This position is 24 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Salary and Benefits
Salary is $15 per hour. PSLS offers paid holiday, vacation, and health time, vision insurance, and pension plan enrollment.
